If you are a freelancer you will have already realized how exhausting and repetitive it can be to work from home. Although you can manage your time and enjoy other advantages, you also need adequate space and accessories to be more productive. Today I will be sharing with you my favorite work-from-home essentials you didn’t know you needed. This is not just for moms but for everyone who is lucky to be working remotely.
1. Worky
This Worky portable office makes any space in your home office space by bringing together all the elements of a productive desk setup in one convenient mobile solution. If you do not have a dedicated home office or you’re like me who works in different areas of the house just because… then this is for you!
- It is Compatible with up to 15.6-inches laptops
- Has a built-in power strip (2 outlets, 1 USB port, 1 Type C port)
- Has a LED video conferencing light with adjustable brightness for zoom meetings so no need to buy a ring light

I used to bring my laptop and lots of papers around the house but now I keep everything in my Worky. Honestly one of the best inventions ever! If you enter the code THEMOMLIFE you can get a 10% discount at Worky and believe me if you love to have everything organized, you won’t regret it.
2. All-in-one printer with refillable ink
The one I have is the Epson Ecotank Printer and is one of my favorite work-from-home essentials. It’s a wireless printer with Scanner, Copier and fax and it has refillable ink so no more expensive cartridges. I actually replaced my printer that uses a cartridge with this one and I’ve been doing great. It has a big ink tank and it holds a lot of paper so I don’t need to keep on swapping papers and I love that I can just keep on printing. Another thing I like about this printer is it is compatible with Alexa and can also be controlled using my phone.
If you have school-aged kids, you work from home or you have a small business, I highly recommend this printer.
3. Comfortable bean bag
We all have those lazy days sometimes, right? I work from home as a blogger and content creator and sometimes I just feel like relaxing while working instead of sitting straight up on my office chair so I have this bean bag from Moon pod. You can sit, recline and sleep on this. It is super comfortable and I honestly sit here more than my office chair because it relieves pressure on my back. The only bad thing here is I always feel sleepy when I sit here but that’s what it’s all about! That’s how comfortable this beanbag is and I assure you, the more relaxed you feel, the better you will work.
4. Lap desk
Whenever I sit on my Moon Pod bean bag, I use this lap desk when working on my laptop because it’s more comfortable and it helps reduce strain. I got this one from amazon and it is fantastic. It’s light, comfortable, and perfect even if you want to work from the comfort of your bed.
5. Comfortable slippers
I probably don’t need to explain this one. So I’m just gonna share what I use, this faux fur slipper is from Amazon. If you’re on your feet for long periods of time or juggle housework and remote work, these slippers will give your feet the rest and comfort they deserve. Believe me, you won’t want to take them off even to sleep!
6. Meal delivery
Maybe is not a work-from-home essential but will definitely make your life easier. Cooking while working from home is not as easy as it sounds especially if you have kids. So meal delivery services are sometimes the way to go. There are a lot of meal delivery services like Cook Unity, HelloFresh, HomeChef, Every plate, and a lot more.
7. Personalized calendar
You’ll be working on your office desk the whole day so might as well get some personalized things like a desk calendar. I always get my personalized office supplies from VistaPrint. I actually just ordered a personalized mug and throw pillow for my home office and I’ll definitely take a photo of it once I receive It so be sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook. I share short videos and photos there daily.
8. Massagers
Foot massager
Back/Shoulder massager
Neck massager
Sitting on a chair for 8 hours or more can cause back pain and stiff muscles so massagers are definitely work-from-home essentials, at least for me. I have a massage seat cushion, back and neck massager, leg massager, and eyes massager. You can probably tell by now that I love a good massage.
9. Keurig or any coffee maker
For those sleepy moms, coffee gets us out of trouble and gives us that extra energy we need to deal with household chores and remote work. That’s why a good coffee maker is essential. If you’re more of a tea fanatic, then you’ll need one too, especially if you use loose extracts that you brew yourself instead of tea bags.
10. Cool wall décor
Just like personalized desk accessories, getting a cool wall décor will definitely transform your home office because let’s be honest, an office, including a home office, can be boring sometimes. I work in my home office every day so I made sure that it’s a room where I’ll be happy to stay the whole day. This wall décor is from Enjoy the woods. It’s a wooden world map and probably my favorite wall décor in the whole house.
11. Shredder
What is an office without a shredder? This is definitely an essential and should be a staple in a home office. Also, with a little imagination and time, many family crafts can be done with these papers, and even make paper-mâché for children’s school and creative activities.
12. Room fragrance
The smell tells us a lot so I always keep my home office smelling amazing. I use candles before but it’s just too strong for me so I replaced them with a smart home fragrance diffuser. Mine is called Pura. It uses designer-grade fragrances so my house, including my home office, always smells like perfume plus I can control it with my smartphone and it doubles as a night light.
