18 Baby Registry Must-Haves for New Moms

Are you a first-time mom? If so, congratulations! You’re probably feeling overwhelmed with all the things you need to do. One of the most important steps is creating your baby registry. It can be daunting to figure out what items you need and which ones are nice to have. To make it easier, here is a list of 18 must-haves for any new mom’s baby registry.

1. A Crib

Safety should always come first when it comes to picking out items for your baby’s nursery, and a crib is essential. Whether you opt for a traditional wooden style or something more modern, make sure that it meets safety standards and is the correct size (most standard cribs fit mattresses that measure 27 ¼ inches by 51 ⅝ inches).

2. Mattress

The mattress should always be firm and fit snugly in the crib so that there are no gaps between the mattress and the sides of the crib where your baby could get stuck. Also, be sure to purchase waterproof covers to go over the mattress as this will protect it from spills and diaper leaks.

3. Diaper Bags

A good diaper bag will keep you organized while on the go with your little one! Look for one that has plenty of pockets for storing diapers, wipes, clothes, toys, and snacks, as well as adjustable straps so you can wear it comfortably over your shoulder or across your body.

4. Bottles and Nipples

This item will depend on whether you plan to breastfeed or formula-feed your baby; however, if you do choose to bottle feed then bottles and nipples are essential items for any baby registry. Look for BPA-free bottles with slow-flow nipples that won’t confuse your little one when transitioning from breastfeeding to bottle feeding. Additionally, make sure you have extra nipples on hand in different sizes (0+ months through 6+ months) as well as bottle sterilizers/sanitizers so that all feeding equipment is properly cleaned before each use.

5. Car Seat

All newborns (and babies up until they reach 20 pounds) must ride in an infant car seat since these are designed specifically for their age group and size range (not all seats accommodate newborns!). Be sure to read reviews from other parents before deciding so you can find one that fits both your budget and lifestyle needs.

6. Receiving Blankets

You can never have too many blankets! Look for lightweight swaddles made from breathable fabric like cotton or muslin so they don’t become too hot during summer months or cold during winter months; also look into receiving blankets if gifting someone with this item as they tend to be more decorative than regular onesies or sleepers.

7. Diapers and Wipes

There is no way around it – diapers are a necessity when it comes to caring for a newborn! Make sure you have plenty stocked up before bringing home your little one; disposable diapers are usually best because they are easy to use but cloth diapers may save money in the long run depending on how often you plan on doing laundry.

8. Baby Monitor

This isn’t necessarily an essential item but having a monitor can provide peace of mind when leaving your baby unattended during naps or at night. Monitor features vary but important features include sound activation mode (so motion doesn’t trigger false alarms) two-way talk capabilities (so parents can comfort their child remotely), temperature monitoring sensors (to ensure optimal sleeping conditions), night vision capabilities (for checking in at night without waking up babes), lullabies/white noise settings (to help babes fall asleep faster), zoom features (to get closer views of babies), out of range alerts (for when parent leave house/room), etc.

9. Pacifiers and Clip

Pacifiers help calm crying infants and give parents peace of mind when soothing their little ones; plus they help keep babies’ mouths clean by preventing thumb-sucking habits which could eventually lead to teeth misalignment issues., Clips are useful accessories because they keep pacifiers close by without worrying about them dropping onto the ground! Make sure these pacifier clips meet safety standards such as being BPA-free plastic materials, rounded edges, etc.

10. Nursing Pillow and Cover
