Having the necessary equipment to shoot a video for YouTube is not impossible. It’s true that if you want to become a YouTuber you will need to invest a little bit to buy some equipment for vlogging that will make your YouTube clips look very professional.
When I decided to become a content creator, I knew I was going to need more than just a camera. I was going to need to stabilize the image, light the shots and record better audio with an external microphone. That’s why I’m sharing with you the equipment I use to create the videos on my Youtube channel, The Mom Life.
Vlogging Camera
Not the most modern, but my favorite! The Canon G7x Mark II is, for me, one of the best cameras for vlogging because of its compact size, lightweight, and simplicity. It is also excellent value for money because it allows (and will do it for a long time) to take professional videos and photos for very little money while maintaining high-resolution standards and video quality.
Vlogging Camera II
If we are talking about compact cameras for recording, then I would go for Sony’s ZV-1 camera. It’s simply fantastic and perfectly covers everything we, content creators and vloggers, need to record our videos. Its features are worth every penny and it’s one of the best, especially if you want to focus on everything from a close-up.
Lavalier Microphone
The SmartLav+ is a lavalier microphone that has given me the best results. Its broadcast-quality audio in a discreet, portable format requires no additional wireless accessories. Just plug it into the headphone jack of my smartphone and it’s ready to record.
Ring Light
The YESKER Ring Light helps me to eliminate shadows in the room where I’m recording and to illuminate the background. What I like most, apart from its color temperature adjustment and brightness range, is its compatibility with any mobile device. Plus I can do live streaming and recording without worrying about battery life with this fantastic ring light.
Softbox Lighting Kit
I love a well-lit video, so this 700W Softbox Lighting Kit from Neewer is a must-have.
Camera Tripod
My ideal camera tripod has been this one from Amazon Basics, not just because of the price. I find that the range of extension, tilt, and swivel is perfect for any type of shot. It’s compatible with most digital cameras.
Tripod Ball Head
Pergear ball head tripod for a 360-degree swivel of your camera.
Portable Handheld Tripod
The Manfrotto PIXI is the perfect portable mini tripod for compact system cameras like the Sony. It’s lightweight, portable, and easy to use. What more could you ask for? The PIXI is great for getting tricky video shots and keeping your camera steady without all the hassle.
Smartphone Tripod Adapter
This little piece of adjustable plastic will become your best friend for activities as simple as FaceTime calls, birthday get-togethers, and even live streaming. You don’t have to be a tech expert to use it and it turns the task of rotating your phone without removing it or adjusting the mount into a useful (and much needed) gadget.
Camera Mount for Car
The Delkin Fat Gecko Mini Mount is the mount I use for in-car filming, but because of its mount and reach, it’s good for so much more. I can document the more extreme and dynamic side of life as a mom or take unique shots of family trips and outdoor outings. You can use it as extreme as you want, you won’t be disappointed.
Camera Stabilizer
I have been using this stabilizer and have been loving its performance. What I like most about this gimbal is its small compact size and portability.
Smartphone Gimbal Handheld Stabilizer
Without a doubt, this kit is an incredible tool for vlogging with your cell phone. I said goodbye to jittery videos and said hello to ultra-smooth, fun, and exciting videos that I share on my social networks. It’s easy to handle and the video creator with effects that do not require a mobile app installed is definitely a plus.
Track Slider Video Stabilizer Rail
Finally, the Neewer Track Slider Video Stabilizer Rail is very useful for capturing and recording professional transitions. This rail can be used on the ground or working with a tripod, allowing multi-angle shots for products and much more.
That’s all folks! I hope you liked the list of vlogging equipment I shared above. If you are considering becoming a content creator, I also hope you find it useful. Don’t forget to follow me on my social networks to enjoy all the content I create with these amazing tools about the wonderful life as a mom.
